Chapter 2 of the Divine Principle is broken down into sections. Each section is further broken down based on sub-sections. There is a 1-hour lesson plans focusing on the individual topics from the sub-sections (ex. Ch 2 Section 2.1). Lesson plans are geared toward a high school level class. Each lesson generally includes a Divine Principle reading, some key talking/discussion points, and a simple activity or action step. Just a note; sections 2 and 3 from this chapter were combined and the lessons for both sections can be found under “Section 2”.
SECTION 1: THE ROOT OF SIN . . .
Includes four 1-hour lesson plans, a unique focus piece on God’s emotional perspective during the Fall, and a section quiz. Lesson titles and objectives are:
•“The Root of Sin and God’s Heart” Lesson Obj: Understand the impact of the human Fall on our world and God’s heart throughout creation, during the Fall and after the Fall.
•“Trees in the Garden and the Fruit” Lesson Obj:Understand the significance of the tree of life, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and the fruit in the story of the Fall.
•“The Serpent and the Crime” Lesson Obj: Understand that the serpent in the story of the Fall represents Lucifer the angel and that the eating of the fruit is a representation of an inappropriate sexual relationship.
•“Freedom and Forgiveness” Lesson Obj: Understand what true freedom is and why God gave it to us and that God is always seeking to connect with His children no matter what they have done.
SECTION 2: THE MOTIVATION AND PROCESS OF THE FALL & SECTION 3 THE POWER OF LOVE, THE POWER OF THE PRINCIPLE AND GOD’S COMMANDMENT . . .
Contains four 1-hour lesson plans and one section quiz. Lesson titles and objectives are:
•“The Motivation of the Spiritual and Physical Fall” Lesson Obj: Understand the process and motivation behind the spiritual and physical Fall and how they are constantly replayed, all over the world, from the beginning of the human race until present day.
•“The Power of Love vs. The Power of the Principle” Lesson Obj: Understand why God created the power of love to be stronger than the power of the Principle and how the misuse of love has distorted relationships in our current society.
•“The Commandment as an Object of Faith” Lesson Obj: Understand why God gave the commandment to Adam and Eve and how we can use God’s word to direct our life during the period of indirect dominion.
•“The Period in which the Commandment was Necessary” Lesson Obj: Understand that the need to follow the commandment was a temporary requirement so that Adam and Eve could build a strong foundation in their future relationship.
