SPIRITUAL PRACTICE

Therefore, in offering prayers, you should know at which time you can pray well. The time when you can pray well is the time when your degree of correspondence with God is the highest. At that time you will discover the gate of the mind… At that time the path opens up so that you can experience what God feels. To reach such a position, you need to cultivate your mind.
CSG, Book 7, Chapter 3, Section 3, Verse 2

When you pray, a great and mighty power will come to you.
CSG, Book 7, Chapter 3, Section 3, Verse 4

Within us there must be a function that drives us to seek the absolute God. Without such a function, we would not be able to reach Him. There must be a force to stimulate us and push us forward. That force is the conscience, which we cannot ignore. The conscience wants to elevate us so it urges us: “become better! Do better!” We cannot deny this force. The conscience never urges us to be worse; it always pushes us to go higher, to be better tomorrow than today, to be better the next day than tomorrow, to be better next year than this year. The conscience is the force that urges us to become a better, more valuable individual.
CSG, Book 1, Chapter 1, Section 1, Verse 24

You should set aside some time to experience the joy of being with your original mind… Sit down in a tranquil place and meditate. Enter a deep state of prayer. Then you will enter a world deep within, a world that no one else can know.
CSG, Book 4, Chapter 1, Section 2, Verse 23

Prayers are only answered to those who try their best to fulfill that for which they prayed.
Sun Myung Moon (Important Person, 6-10-73)

You will have no time to pray kneeling down before God, but you can pray as you work. From early dawn you can be prepared and work, work! In that case, God will not scold you, saying, “You are not praying to me!” No, because what He needs is action.
Sun Myung Moon (God, Myself and the Country of my Assignment 4/21-75)

Faith is necessary to provide the motivation for action.
CSG, Book 8, Chapter 1, Section 1, Verse 32

It is dangerous to fall into a routine life of faith.
CSG, Book 8, Chapter 1, Section 2, Verse 1

In leading a life of faith, you cannot be a spectator… So you must preserve your way of faith irrespective of what others do.
CSG, Book 8, Chapter 1, Section 1, Verse 1

With faith, nothing is impossible.
CSG, Book 8, Chapter 1, Section 1, Verse 2

You need to have zest in your life of faith.
CSG, Book 8, Chapter 1, Section 1, Verse 10

You will be unable to practice a life of faith that can manage the world if you do not realize that the center of your faith is even more important than the world.
CSG, Book 8, Chapter 1, Section 1, Verse 18

Pray from the bottom of your heart. When your words and actions reflect your innermost heart, they will become honorable words and actions that bring you no shame before God, Satan or anyone else.
CSG, Book 8, Chapter 2, Section 3, Verse 29

People whose prayers are the same today as they were yesterday are not really leading a life of faith. Even though you see the same thing every day, you should notice something different about it.
CSG, Book 11, Chapter 1, Section 2, Verse 20

BECOMING AN IDEAL PERSON

Anyone who can experience God’s heart, so that he or she feels every shock and impulse within Heaven’s sphere of heart, is unstoppable.
CSG, Book 8, Chapter 1, Section 1, Verse 6

When the mind and body are united, we do not feel distress. But when the mind and body are disunited, when they are not balanced horizontally, we feel inner torment.
CSG, Book 4, Chapter 1, Section 2, Verse 13

Religion is the training ground where we learn to control our body and its physical desires with the mind. It is the training ground where we cultivate ourselves to become original people in accordance with the ideal of creation.
CSG, Book 4, Chapter 1, Section 2, Verse 34

A life of true love simply means living for the sake of others. It is a life of giving to others first, for their sake, before wanting others to give to you, for your sake. It is giving to others and then forgetting what you have given to them. It is not a matter of wanting something in return for what you have given.
CSG, Book 4, Chapter 3, Section 3, Verse 1

When we practice loving kindness and compassion we are the first ones to profit. ~ Rumi

Religion offers knowledge and escape from the pain, but those who give freely of themselves are God’s favorites. ~Rumi

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself. ~Rumi

If you love people as much as you love God, people will love you just as God loves you.
CSG, Book 4, Chapter 3, Section 3, Verse 1

In restoration, it is when the divine mind or soul becomes the master of the human body that a person’s love can become God-centered. It is as if God’s mind were coming to dwell within that person.
Sun Myung Moon (The Spirit World and Physical World, 2/6/77)

When you act for the sake of the whole, every door will open to you.
CSG, Book 4, Chapter 3, Section 3, Verse 4

You must live your life in a way that God can move with you and history can move with you.
CSG, Book 4, Chapter 3, Section 3, Verse 11

You must lead your life centered on the heart of God.
CSG, Book 4, Chapter 3, Section 3, Verse 12

Living with God also means living happily with nature and coming and going happily in our daily lives.
CSG, Book 8, Chapter 1, Section 1, Verse 16

FINDING DIRECTION

You should set aside a time when you are not working for a real quiet private time with God, through deep prayer. Then spirit world will show you what you are going to do, what your direction will be. Heavenly Father will let you know.
Once you find that center in yourself, you will know everything without being taught.
CSG, Book 4, Chapter 1, Section 2, Verse 35

Before your ship sets out on a voyage, you have to know where it is going. You set the direction, start the engines, and then head out to sea.
CSG, Book 5, Chapter 4, Section 5, Verse 1

If you follow your original mind, the whole universe will open up before you… As soon as you consider doing something, the answer as to what to do will already be right in front of you… The way you ought to go surely will unfold before you, and the forces of the universe will help you follow it. Even if you feel pushed into a place where you are tested, once you are there, everything will assist you. In fact is it only then that you will be able to do great things.
CSG, Book 5, Chapter 4, Section 5, Verse 2

To get there, you need to decide by yourself on the direction you should take. This is something you alone must determine. It is something you yourself know best.
CSG, Book 5, Chapter 4, Section 5, Verse 2

You need to clearly know where you stand then you can go over the next hill.
CSG, Book 8, Chapter 1, Section 1, Verse 29
