LOVE LANGUAGE ROULETTE
Share an introductory message focusing on a memory where the presenter felt very loved by someone. Focus on what that person did and how that made them feel. Explain that love is given and received through many different ways and we all receive them differently. In our lifetime we have the opportunity to become masters of expressing and giving love.
Introduce the five love language survey to the participants and give them time to complete the survey.
Share in small groups:
What is your love language? Did you have a time where you felt really loved because someone used your love language?
What do you think are the love languages of your family members and why?
How do you usually show appreciation and love to others? Are they usually well received?
Now practice those love languages!
Have the participants make a two layered circle; one facing in and one facing out so that there are pairs facing each other.
The two rows start walking in opposite directions and when the presenter says stop, a pair will be formed with partner A on the outside and partner B in the inside.
With each new partner have them discuss:
What is important to you about your love language?
What is a specific example of how someone can love you in your love language?
Throughout the activity have each participant keep a list of idea’s for how to love others in their love language, particularly their family members, that they can use in every day life.
Continue this activity until the presenter feels it is appropriate.
Debrief Message: It’s important to keep practicing being able to express love in all languages and try to love people in the way that means most to them.
